Mid October saw the Arcus team heading to the hills! They jumped in a mini van and were whisked away to their Thames drop off point. From there they conquered the Pinnacles. After a short six and a half hour stroll they found Kate, who was waiting at the Coroglen pick up spot (dirt track Matt said, more like fire break!) with ice cold beer. Shoes were flung off, crackers consumed and lots of tales were told…
A collection of ‘special’ moment from the team:
Kate made the beer nice and cold.
That first beer that Matt gave us at the end of the tramp was amazing!
Franswa complained for the last 1/3 of the hike.
James complained for the last 1/3 of the hike.
Jeremy laughed at Franswa and James for the last 1/3 of the hike.
Murdoch “Attenborough” Dryden filmed the herd of Animals migrating across the peninsular.
Fiona wiped out on the rough track.
James wiped out on the rough track.
Franswa wiped out on the rough track.
Everyone wiped out on the rough track.
Shane “Packhorse” Albrecht brought enough food to ensure we could survive four months lost in the bush.
Matt drank diluted 1080 and lived to tell the tale.
Mark explained the presence of tannins in the river to everyone’s amazement.
Cliff “Ice Man” Arms showed a remarkable ability to immerse himself in near boiling water without being cooked alive.
Dreydon “Iron Man” Sobanja swam in icy waters and then paraded around in his trunks in gale force winds without batting an eye.
The hot pools and cold beer (and brush with cougars) – amazing!
