To balance the mental stress with a bit of physical exertion the boss suggested the Arcus crew (and a few external extras) head off for a hike up the Pararaha Valley in the stunning Waitakere's.
The team started off from the Karekare car park, headed along the beach, through the dunes and towards the mountains. From there, the weaker of the pack opted to head up the mountain and back on the easier route. The toughies headed up the river, taking the scenic route to the top and jumped off waterfalls on their way down. These waterfalls got bigger and bigger as you went - not for the faint hearted! They looped back soggy and starving to the car park for a cold beer before being whisked off to what turned out to be one of the worst restaurants in Auckland...oh well!
